I WILL MEET YOU AT THE PLAZA SKENDERBEG WITH ONE OF MY ALPHA TRAVEL BLOUSES :)
Sheshi Skënderbej, or Skanderbeg Square, is the main square located in the heart of Tirana, the capital city of Albania. It is named after Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu, a national hero and the leader of the Albanian resistance against the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century. Here are some attractions and landmarks you can see around Skanderbeg Square At the center of the square stands a grand statue of Skanderbeg on horseback, erected in 1968. This iconic monument symbolizes Albania's independence and nation
Located near the square, the Et'hem Bey Mosque is one of the oldest and most beautiful mosques in Tirana. Built in the 18th century, it features stunning Ottoman architecture and intricate frescoes inside.
Situated on the southern side of the square, the National History Museum is Albania's largest museum, showcasing exhibits that cover the country's history from ancient times to the present day. The museum building itself is an impressive example of communist-era architecture.
Adjacent to the National History Museum is the Clock Tower of Tirana, dating back to the early 19th century. Visitors can climb to the top for panoramic views of the city
Facing the square, the Cultural Palace is a prominent cultural and entertainment venue in Tirana. It hosts concerts, performances, exhibitions, and other cultural events.
Just a short walk from Skanderbeg Square, Tanners' Bridge is one of the oldest surviving Ottoman-era bridges in Tirana. It crosses the Lana River and provides a glimpse into the city's past.
