Free Walking Tour Siena, off the beaten track, is the visit for you! We will start from Piazza della Posta, near the Metropolitan Gallery. We will begin by paying homage to Saint Catherine , at the Basilica of the same name, where her relics rest. You will hear a lot about her. We will then enter Contrada dell'Oca - we will talk about the Palio and the long and complex tradition that surrounds it. Afterwards we will go down to Fontebranda for a bit of refreshment, and then go up to Piazza del Duomo , dominated by Santa Maria della Scala , the oldest hospital in the world. The tour will have its natural conclusion in the monumental Piazza del Campo , the beating heart of Siena culture and an extraordinary architectural setting in which the famous Palio di Siena takes place twice a year.

Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
