Casa Blanca Neighborhood Free Tour
Tour description
We'll begin this free tour of the Casablanca neighborhood at Aracelio Iglesias Park, where we'll meet at the indicated time next to the ferry terminal. From there, we'll set sail on the Lanchita de Regla, one of the most popular boats in Havana.
In just 10 minutes, we'll cross the bay of Havana until we reach the Casablanca pier. After disembarking in this neighborhood in the Regla district, we'll start our tour admiring the famous Christ of Havana. Next to this colossal 20-meter sculpture is the Comandancia del Che, where Ernesto Guevara stayed after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
We'll continue our free tour of Casablanca at the Military History Museum. In this open-air exhibit, we'll see the wreckage of a U.S. Air Force plane that was shot down by Cuba during the October 1962 missile crisis. Next to the museum is the fortress of San Carlos de la Cabaña, which dates back to the 18th century.
The next stop will take place at the castle of the Three Kings of Morro, one of the main bastions of the Cuban capital during the Spanish colonial era. At the foot of the bastion also stands the Morro lighthouse, where we'll finish the tour at 8 pm.
After concluding the tour, we recommend that you stay in the area. This way you'll be able to attend Havana's cañonazo ceremony, which takes place every day at 9 pm at the fortress of San Carlos de la Cabaña.
