The most Spanish Brussels: from the Tercios to the 21st century
Tour description
Chocolates, beers, waffles... It may be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about Brussels . Some will think of the Grande Place , the European Union or NATO, or you may come for the adventure and be open to anything.
However, in Brussels you will find much more than its delicious cuisine and panoramic streets. In fact, this city may be more familiar to you than you think.
If you are like me and love history, and in particular the history of Spain , then... this tour is for you!
The Spanish legacy and the Hispanic presence are little known, but they are very present in the city. If you dare to take this tour, we will not only visit the most iconic places in the city, but we will also explore the Spanish footprint that has marked the region since the times of the Tercios and the Duke of Alba .
We will immerse ourselves in the most beautiful square in the world, the Grande Place , and decipher its most Spanish facets ; we will follow in the footsteps of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza; We will visit an old building that still keeps its Hispanic name ; We will conquer the old Palace of Charles V and follow the route of the thirds in one of the neighborhoods with the greatest Hispanic presence, the Marolles neighborhood , to return to our favorite square and finish our adventure.
If you want to discover the most Spanish side of the city without missing the most iconic parts of Brussels (and if you want to receive a good recommendation for eating and drinking in Brussels like a local ) , do not hesitate to contact me. All the best!
