I am a knowledgeable local Indonesian who has lived in Jakarta for over 20 years, and I have also lived all over Java and in Bali. I love to travel and also to share the beauty and culture of my country with travellers from around the world. Let's explore together! :-)
You are invited on this once-in-a-lifetime 2.5 hour journey through the authentic night markets of the vibrant city of Jakarta, capital of the fabled lands known as the "Spice Islands." Your English-speaking local guide will guide you with insider information that only the locals know, as well as answer your questions and perhaps bridge the cultural and communication gap that can hamper most travelers' wanderings in this exotic city.
Treat your senses to the tastes, sights, sounds, and smells of these historical night markets - while being able to learn about the origins, the preparation, and the cultural significance of numerous types of cuisines across the world's largest archipelago. Feel free to try & taste, or just to observe & learn, as much or as little as you would like -- it's up to you, but bring some local rupiah cash if you intend on trying some of the delicacies or buying any market wares. :-)
