My Beatles Walking Tour
Tour description
60 years ago six young men would regularly take the bus into Liverpool City Centre. Once there they would visit the pubs, clubs, record and music stores, to listen or play music. They dreamed of making it big in Liverpool, or if that was way too ambitious perhaps, maybe at least attract the attention of the local beauties.
This walking tour revisits the Liverpool journeys of these six members of the early Beatles.
We visit all the statues and memorials in the city centre that recognise both their towering achievements and extraordinary talents.
We also explore what remains of their Liverpool "there are places I remember" thankfully there is still a lot that remains to see along the way.
I will give you my own personal take on how I see the forces in the music world, and society in post war Liverpool, combined to give birth to a beat scene that would emerge on to the world stage, to change the music business forever and give joy to millions of people.
I invite you to come with me on my fun Beatles Walking tour!
Start with a photo opportunity at the Beatles Statue by the river and explore Liverpool's stunning waterfront.
Walk through to Castle Street and the Town Hall, scene of the Beatles glorious homecoming in 1964, witnessed by 200, 000 of their adoring fans.
Down to the 'Beatles Quarter' centred around Mathew Street, for a detailed exploration of the clubs, pubs and shops that played such a key role in their early story.
Photo opportunities and detailed narration alongside the statues. Each tells a part of an enchanting story that unfolds along our journey together.
Then we finish outside the world famous Cavern Club the venue where the fab four first began to get noticed and attract the attention of the man who take them to the next level Brian Epstein.
