Since I was young I have been interested in history and the whys of things, in understanding processes and being part of the changes. I have been a tourism business administrator since 2019 and since 2017 I have been working as a tour guide mostly in commune 13 of Medellín. I have always been interested in showing the authenticity of the city and the processes of social transformation. I like to share experiences, teach and learn, and raise awareness through the history of people or places. My life experience has created in me the thought of giving and receiving with love and sincerity.
This tour is designed to learn as much as possible in these hours, not just to be in the tourist area but to have an authentic experience and to know the daily life while we are in more places of this charming Commune. I tell stories from the freshness, knowledge, reality, experience and experiences, since it is in this area of the city where I was born and currently live; the idea is that from the first moment we all manage to feel at home and enjoy it as if we were friends . Trust and good vibes are the starting point for many admirable things.
Guided tour of Comuna 13 in Medellín where I want to highlight the social transformation that this place has had, show how art and culture were fundamental factors in this process and understand from the inside a new way of life and of seeing things.
The meeting point and starting point of the tour is: the San Javier station of the Medellín metro in the metrocable (cable car) area. Be careful not to leave the station because we will use the means of transport. It is also worth noting that this station has two exits, the main one on the first floor and the metrocable one on the second.
Once at the meeting point we will take a ride on the Comuna 13 cable car, this is a public transport and will give us a broader view of the territory since these neighborhoods are quite far from the tourist area , this tour lasts approximately 25 minutes and after this we will be in the most important and central neighborhood of the commune (San Javier neighborhood), there I show and comment on some things, and we will take a medium-sized bus that will take us to the tourist and more artistic area.
Already in full GraffitiTour we will visit the neighborhoods of the independence, the escalators, the largest open-air urban art gallery in the city and the viaduct that connects different neighborhoods.
If you like, you will try homemade and artisanal ice cream, well known by locals and foreigners, gastronomy from various cultures of the country and we will enjoy dance, trova and freestyle shows (all shows are free, the artists receive voluntary contributions), also being in a high area of the city the landscape that can be observed is fascinating, suitable for very good photographs .
This is a fairly safe place, its people are friendly and helpful, that is why after being in the tourist area the route continues in a nearby but completely everyday neighborhood where you will appreciate the "normal" life of commune 13 to end this guided tour in the Peace Park, there you take transportation either to the metro station or to a specific point.
During the tour we will have moments to listen to stories, watch shows, ask and answer questions, and what I always want is for this place to show them a new way of seeing life and things.
Second floor of the San Javier station of the Medellín metro in the cable car area without leaving the station. When you get off the train, go to the side where there are escalators, go up them and that's where you'll arrive at our meeting point. However, please confirm your attendance, you can do it through WhatsApp: 573003946275 or leave me a message on this platform. It is important to have good communication before the tour to organize and coordinate in the best way since it is possible that you will arrive by another means of transport.
