European Free Tour: Fiftieth Anniversary Park and Institutions
Tour description
On this visit we will visit the mythical Parque del Cincuentenario and Parque Leopoldo both related to the history of Europe, we will visit the European Quarter, headquarters of the different institutions and organizations of the European Union.
What will we do during the visit?
We will start the tour in one of the key parks in the history of Belgium, the Fiftieth Anniversary Park designed to commemorate the independence of Belgium in 1830. Two key museums are located in it to understand the history of Europe in the 20th century: The Museum of automobile and the Museum of Military History.
We will continue in the Schuman area where the different regional offices of the 27 member countries and the key Institutions of the European Union are located: the European Commission, the summit building and the Council of the European Union.
We will visit the Leopoldo Park where a decisive congress was held to understand science in the 20th century , the Solvay Congress of 1927 where Albert Einstein and Marie Curie among others met. In this same park is one of the most important European museums: The House of European History, which houses information on the history of each of the member states.
We will finish the visit in the European Parliament itself, in the Espace Léopold .
