London - City of Water, Fire and Money ! - A walk through the highlights of the ancient City of London
Tour description
London - City of Water, Fire and Money! - A walk through the ancient City of London's greatest sights.
Its Autumn and the City of London has lots of events going on and lots of shopping opportunities
Water - London is a City with a rich history founded on the historic port which for hundreds of years was the source of the wealth which financed the growth of the maritime superpower that was Great Britain. Your walk will explore the ancient port area beside the Thames and its most famous bridges.
Fire - has been London's Nemesis at least 3 times and each time London has risen Phoenix-like from the ashes of disaster to even greater glory. Your walk will follow in the paths of the Great Fire of 1666 and the Blitz of 1940/41
Money - For hundreds of years London has been at the heart of the world's financial system. This is where the markets and products which built the world we know today were developed. Your walk will explore the hidden alleyways of the City where these great institutions were born.
During your walk you will travel across 2000 years of history seeing the City of London's greatest sights including an ancient fortress, Roman ruins, magnificent churches, hidden gardens, the site of executions and much, much more. The walk finishes at the gem that is St Pauls Cathedral.
You will also visit many sights of general interest to the visitor in the great City of London.
