Spectral Rome: free tour among the ghosts of the past
Tour description
Have you ever wondered what spiritual presences roam the streets of Rome? 👻
Alas, the Eternal City is rich in them! Characters who filled the chronicles of the past and fueled imaginative stories.
We will start our journey from Castel Sant'Angelo, the place where in 1599 the death sentence of the young Beatrice Cenci was carried out, a girl with an unfortunate life who aroused the tenderness of the Romans... who still claim to see her today!
We will continue the walk towards Piazza Navona, where there are several noble palaces. At Palazzo Tuccimei someone reports seeing a severed hand sticking out of one of the windows... what story is behind it?! And again, the very famous Palazzo Pamphilj, which belonged to one of the most powerful families of the seventeenth century. Right here, the ghost of a woman who was much talked about at the time, the surly Donna Olimpia Maidalchini would still haunt today.
Before heading towards the Pantheon, a small stop in front of Palazzo Giustiniani, built by the rebellious genius of Francesco Borromini . Always in contrast with his colleague Gian Lorenzo Bernini; still tells of his tormented spirit that runs through the corridors of the beautiful building he designed.
The last stop will be the Pantheon, born as a pagan temple. It seems that at the time of its transformation into a Christian building a flock of devils rose from the oculus!
If you are looking for a ghost tour linked to REALLY existing historical figures, this is the perfect tour for you 😉
