Join us to learn about the history of religious images and Peruvian saints that have marked a milestone in our country and the world, and that today are recognized for their legacy in the Catholic faith. We will visit the places where these characters were born, lived and made history.
We will begin our tour in the Plaza Mayor of Lima , where we will have a panoramic view of the Cathedral of Lima and Plaza Mayor , and we will continue to see from outside the convent of Santo Domingo where Santa Rosa de Lima , the patron saint of America, is buried.
We will then enter the Basilica of Santa Rosa , the place where the saint from Lima was born and there we will learn more about her life and the moment in which she lived. From that place we will see the house of San Martín de Porras , the first mulatto saint of Peru.
Then we will visit the church of the Nazarenas (it is not always open) where the image of the Lord of Miracles , the patron saint of Lima, rests and if you wish, we will visit its interesting museum (entrance ticket NOT included) where we will learn more about the history of the revered image.
It is on the corner of the Jirón de la Unión with the Jirón Callao. I always carry a backpack and sometimes a scarf.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
