Hi to everyone. My name is Juan. I like to talk to people about my city: how Montevideo has grown, what policies have been taken, a bit of History and Geography, and of course about football. I planned a trip around the city with the objective to see how common people live.
Hi everyone and welcome to Montevideo!
The idea is to travel around the city, to know how we live Uruguayan people. In order to do so, we will walk around the main features of 'Ciudad Vieja'. From there, we start our walk, and we discuss Montevideo's history and geography. Walking to 'Plaza Independencia' we stop to see Mausoleo de Artigas and 'Casa de Gobierno'.
From there we take a bus* to Centenario Stadium*. We will talk about urban geography, public policies, and Uruguayan sociopolitical structure, looking into deep aspects of the city and citizenship.
Walking in the city implies the concept on which guides must be holistic in the approach. To recognize and discover highlights of places requires history in the making, having tours designed for specific tours and persons.
*The tour does not include bus tickets. The walk around the Centenario Stadium does not include entrance to the Stadium.
We close the walk in Plaza Independencia. The objective of this tour is to be Uruguayan for 2 hours.
We find each other at Sarandí and Juan Carlos Gomez. You contact me at mobile phone and I send you a picture.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
