Hello traveler, congratulations! You've come to the right place to discover the secrets and treasures of Trastevere. On this tour, you'll visit and discover stunning works of art. We'll walk its narrow streets, dine, and enjoy the bohemian, old-world atmosphere of Trastevere. If there's one word that defines this neighborhood, it would be "Magic."
Trastevere is a neighborhood that developed in ancient times outside the confines of Rome , on the other side of the Tiber River and is famous today for its wonderful and immersive history.
Our prepared and fun guide🙋🏽♀️ knows its streets very well since she lives in the quartiere, and will tell you about well-marked events in the daily life of the old Trasteverina town, walking through its small and narrow streets.
We'll visit these unusual places frozen in time, from the neighborhood's birth and development to today's fun spot for Roman nightlife.
You'll learn about its typical dishes, and she'll give you the best bar and restaurant recommendations as you walk among beautiful facades in warm colors, dim lights, and plants climbing the walls. There's no doubt that Trastevere's charm is definitely romantic and unique. And you, don't miss it!
What places will we visit?
We'll begin our tour just above Tiber Island, in the Piazza di San Bartolomeo all'isola . We'll cross the Tiber River via the Ponte Cestio, leaving the ancient confines of Rome behind and entering the Trastevere neighborhood in search of the Old Synagogue. From there, we'll head to the wonderful and ancient Basilica of Santa Cecilia, "the patron saint of music." Upon leaving, we'll walk through its narrow streets, enjoying its medieval charm.
We'll also show you the busiest area for bars and restaurants.
Get ready! Here are some local recommendations for you to sample Roman cuisine. Passing by the oldest and most famous bar in Trastevere, it's impossible not to visit Santa Maria in Trastevere, Rome's first church.
We'll continue among bars and restaurants, enjoying the neighborhood's good atmosphere amid history, laughter, art, and music. A perfect combination!
We soon find the Septimian Gate , one of the ancient gates of the Aurelian Walls. From here we will reach the square where artists and Romans gather to enjoy musical performances, the Trilussa Square . This beautiful tour ends at the Sisto Bridge , just over the river...
But don't worry, after our recommendations, the night is still young and it's time for good music and exquisite appetizers.
