Guide Michael is a professional registered Regional and Provincial Cultural Tourist Guide (WC12125), as well as a registered National Overnight Off Trail Mountain Adventure and Trekking Tourist Guide. Michael's uncle (who is still alive today) was the neighbour of Nelson Mandela when he spent nearly 7 years in the jail cell right next door to him, between 1972 and 1979, as a political prisoner on Robben Island. Join us for a walking tour of the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront where we touch on the old as well as the new installations of this, the biggest tourist attraction on the African continent.
All our tours are based on proper research and facts, and the information shared is not meant to be disrespectful to anyone's gender, country, religion, ethnicity, culture, ancestors, place of origin, political persuasion, traditions or practices.
From the history of the Khoisan, to Table Mountain, Table Bay, the working Victoria and Alfred harbours as well as the large Duncan Duncan dock, you'll get a sense of how important the port with it's marine connections have played a huge part in the development of Cape Town, to what it is today.
We'll show you what there is to "must do", as well as good restaurants and child friendly attractions too.
The tour finishes near the amphitheatre where one can enjoy refreshments at a restaurant in the area.
