Neapolitan people: history, culture and folklore
Tour description
This is an experience aimed at travelers tired of mass tourism, to those who are not on holiday but on travel, to those who seek authenticity everywhere driven by curiosity towards themselves and the world where to immerse with love and respect.
The area of the Quartieri Spagnoli today remains one of the most authentic in Naples, with its characteristic alleys, street art and the locals, will involve you in a whirlwind of emotions and sensations as only this city can do.
In our walk I will show you the references to characters who have made the history of the city told through local street art, such as Maradona and Totò, I will show you the protagonist places of the stories of the "Quartieri", such as the entrances to the underground tunnels and the historic churches.
I will have the chance to tell you many stories and show you a side of Naples that you might not expect to find, it will be like a walk among friends, but please remember that for me this is in fact a job in which I spend a lot of time and energy in all its aspects, from the 'touristic' to the social side.
We will also get to know the local people, now more and more curious about visitors, observing the particular way of living and listening to some history of the place, between cultural associations and squatted churches, local artisans, tailors and shoemakers who continue to make their jobs in the old way, carrying on centuries of Neapolitan traditions and culture, or simple passers-by with the desire to chat or tell some story.
The Spanish Quarters are rich in life and folklore, they smell of the sea and Vesuvius, and visiting them can be something very distant culturally, but it is also a unique experience for those who want to know one of the most authentic and particular realities of Naples!
