Walking through the History of Zurich
Tour description
Walking for the first time through the streets of a city, you pass by many monuments, churches, and buildings that are the remnants of a story that is long gone.
Zürich, despite being a small city, has a beautiful and interesting history, mostly unknown even to the population.
During this tour, I will share with you the history of Zürich, from the first settlements to the city we see today, by walking together through the city center.
We will start in Bellevue, near the lake, where were located the first settlements of Zürich. Walking along the river, we will move towards Lindenhof, an ancient Roman outpost, called Turicum, that gave name to today's Zürich.
Coming down from Lindenhof, we will visit the small street of Strehlgasse and stop by the most important churches of Zürich: St. Peter, Fraumüster, and Grossmünster.
We will talk about the heroes of Zürich and how they shaped the city and the country.
Such us Zwingli and his religious reformation: did you know that everything started from a sausage?
We will conclude the tour at the main station (HB Zürich).
