Tour description
Ortigia free walking tour is the ideal way, for those visiting Syracuse for the first time , to discover the historic center of the city. You will be accompanied by a licensed tour guide who will tell you about the origins and anecdotes of the city of Archimedes and will show you the most important monuments.
Ortigia is a small island and we will meet at the entrance to the island and then move into its heart and through the characteristic alleys . We will be able to admire the remains of the ancient Greek city, such as the temple of Apollo , the elegant fountain of Diana and Piazza Duomo , the city center with its cathedral and the church of Santa Lucia alla Badia. Unmissable stop of the tour will also be the legendary Arethusa spring with its papyrus plants. Our guide will tell you about the romantic myth linked to the source but will also introduce you to the exploits of Archimedes , the great Greek inventor who lived in Syracuse.
Our guided walk lasts about 1 hour and 30 minutes and takes place entirely outdoors.

At the end of the tour the guide will be available for information on the must-see monuments of the city but also to give you advice on the best restaurants, beaches or other Sicilian places.
