Would you like to travel to the Rome of the emperors?
On the free tour Imperial Rome we take you to discover the heart of one of the largest empires of Antiquity...
We will begin our tour at the symbol of the Roman Empire: the great Colosseum, officially called the Flavian Amphitheatre . From the outside, we will be able to admire and discover the secrets of one of the most famous monuments in the world.
We will continue towards the true heart of what was the capital of the Ancient World: the Imperial Forums . Along the current Via dei Fori Imperiali we can admire the remains of the city centre.
We will start with the almost disappeared Forum of Peace , continue towards the Republican Forum and from there we will move on to the forums that were later built by some of the most influential Roman emperors: the Forum of Caesar , the Forum of Nerva , the Forum of Augustus and, finally, the largest of them all: the Forum of Trajan .
We will then arrive at the centre of the Italian capital today: Piazza Venezia . Here we will witness another work on a par with imperial constructions, but from a contemporary era: the Altar of the Fatherland .
Finally we will go up to one of the most important squares: the Piazza del Campidoglio , famous above all for being the work of the great Michelangelo during the Renaissance and for containing the Capitoline Museums and the Rome City Hall .
And what better way to end the tour than from one of the best panoramic views of the city?
We await you in the heart of the Empire!
Colosseum Square (next to the Arch of Constantine). The guide will carry a RED UMBRELLA.
