Strolling through the back streets of Mardin - Free Tour
Tour description
Mardin is an old Mesopotamian city famous today for it is cultural diversity and very well preserved appearance.
We will begin our tour at the Main Square to take a look at the former Catholic Syriac Patriarchate building complex and the tower of the Virgin Mary Church nearby. Then, taking the backstreets of the Old town, we will make our way to Art Street, one of the most popular places to photograph.
I will lead you to the old girls' school building and show you some street passages unique to Mardin as we climb to the highest point of the old town, known as the Zinciriye Madrasa. Here, take in the beautiful views of the Mesopotamian plain stretching out beneath us before heading to look at some traditional shops in the adjoining bazaar.
After that, we will lead to the old bazaars and grand mosque of Mardin.
You enjoy the city during this walking tour and hear many stories of it except the historical facts.
