The Vatican and Rome. 2000 years of history
Tour description
A route particularly recommended for those interested in learning more about the history of the Vatican and its two-thousand-year relationship with Rome!
Why is St. Peter's Basilica located in the Vatican? When was it built? Why does the Vatican have this name? What is the "Passetto"? The tour will allow you to answer these and many other questions, guiding you on an itinerary full of charm and history.
Through an in-depth overview from the outside we will examine:
- Piazza Cavour (start of the tour)
- Sant'Angelo castel
- Via della Conciliazione
- Passetto di Borgo
- Vatican walls
- St. Peter's Square (end of tour)
At the end, on their own behalf, the participants can choose to visit the interior of St. Peter's Basilica and, if they wish, go to the Vatican Museums, whose entrance is not far from the square.
So do not hesitate to discover together the Vatican, the beating heart of the Church of Rome, its history and its treasures!
