Greetings travelers, welcome to Tarifa!
As some of you may know, it is a peculiar city, it is located in the " Strait of Gibraltar " , very close to the African continent, only 14 km away.
In addition to that, it is the point where the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean meet , a place of great environmental interest.
In the city we find a mixture of history, culture from different countries and unparalleled gastronomy (such as the delicious almadraba red tuna).
Returning to the tour I will tell you a little about the itinerary.
In the first place we will find ourselves at the famous "Puerta de Jerez" , a place where we will give way to the entrance of the old part of the city.
After a brief presentation we will begin by embarking on a journey through time strolling through the beautiful streets of Tarifa.
I will show you some places of interest and shops of all kinds, souvenir shops, cafeterias, bars, pastry shops, clothing stores, etc.
The first stop is located at the beautiful church of " San Mateo Apóstol " where we will talk about some of its curiosities. After the church we will go a little further into the old town, where we will see some of the oldest and most picturesque houses in the city as well as the wall that surrounded them.
We will go to a viewpoint with impressive views of Africa, we will pass by the town hall and its peculiar square.
We will see some more alleys and we will head to the Alameda to culminate in the beautiful castle of "Guzmán el Bueno" . There we will talk about its history and the legend of the character that gives its name to the castle.
To finish we will see the port with its fishing boats, the bunkers of the small beach , and the castle of Santa Catalina , we will arrive at the promenade that connects the island of the pigeons (where the city lighthouse is located).
We will finish the tour with the views of Africa and surrounded on one side by the Mediterranean Sea and on the other by the Atlantic Ocean.
I wait for you on this magnificent tour full of surprises, good atmosphere, beauty and above all a lot of history.
See you soon!
