Free Tour Old Town Warsaw
Tour description
Our tour starts at the Nicolaus Copernicus Monument on the Krakowskie Przedmieście Street, in the heart of the historic center of Warsaw. During our 2.45 hour walk, we will visit iconic places such as Czapski Palace home to the most brilliant Polish composer Frederic Chopin, the University of Warsaw, and the Presidential Palace. We continue to Castle Square with the Column of King Sigismund III. You will admire the Royal Castle dating back to the 14th century, which has been the residence of Polish kings, then of the president, and then the seat of parliament. Later on, we move to the Old Town of Warsaw, the charming district full of colorful tenement houses and the unique atmosphere of its narrow streets. We visit the cathedral, which houses the tombs of the medieval Mazovian princes and the last king of Poland. We discover the Old Town Square one of the most charming squares in Warsaw with a statue of the Warsaw Mermaid.
The tour concludes in the vicinity of the former Warsaw Ghetto, where we talk about the glory and tragedy of the Warsaw Uprising, admiring the Monument depicting a group of insurgents in battle, and another faction retreating into the sewers.
