Antwerp Free Tour
Tour description
Hello!!
Did you know that there is a city in Belgium that will make your eyes sparkle?
That's right, the diamond city , where approximately 80% of the world's rough diamond circulates, is waiting for you. You will have at your disposal a neighborhood full of these precious stones, which await their lucky buyer.
Antwerp, the city that longs to be the Belgian capital, where one of the most important ports in Europe is located and which is often in the background or third place due to its neighbors Bruges and Ghent. But Antwerp has more to offer than we imagine.
Join us on our walk through the city, where we will show you the most relevant of Antwerp , surely you will not regret it.
We will start a few steps from the opera , near the train station, which according to some magazines, is considered one of the most beautiful in the world . Next, we will enter the most important commercial street in the country, and between shops for all tastes and pockets, we will arrive at the house museum of the famous Baroque painter Pablo Pedro Rubens . We will tell you about the relationship and the importance that the painter has had with the city. We will visit the Meir Palace , once owned by Napoleon, later home to the Belgian monarchy and now home to a recognized and exclusive Belgian chocolate shop, ¨El Chocolate Line¨.
Our walk will continue with a journey through time, since we will leave the commercial and modern area, to enter the old town . This beautiful old town will dazzle us, with everything that we will appreciate and learn. And how could it be otherwise , in a city where its economy and importance depends largely on water , we will finish our walk on the banks of the Scheldt river , next to Steen Castle . It is no coincidence that the inhabitants of this city say:
¨that the river owes its existence to God and Antwerp owes it to the river¨.
