More than 1200 years ago , King Fruela I of Asturias ordered the construction of a basilica that his son, Alfonso II, would end up consecrating and originating the CAMINO DE SANTIAGO. From there and during XI centuries the temple underwent reforms, changes in architectural styles, lightning... and much more!

We will begin the tour next to the sculpture of Alfonso II, El Casto and we enter the garden of the Asturian kings. Later, we will enter the temple where we will see:

Entrance in the gothic temple

Holy Chamber and its relics
Cloister
Pilgrims Cemetery
ambulatory
chapels
