Monumental Freetour of Antequera
Tour description
We will start in the Plaza del Coso Viejo where we find two convents of great importance for the city. We will discover why Antequera has so many churches. It is the city in Spain with the most churches per number of inhabitants.
We will go up through the most emblematic streets to the upper part of Antequera and from there we will see the rich heritage of the city. We will see how from the same point we find the mixture of three historical stages; the Roman with the remains of the Roman Baths, the Muslim with the Alcazaba and the Christian with the Collegiate Church of Santa María.
Our tour not only offers a historical visit, we will also delve into the literary and artistic part. We will visit the building where Washington Irving stayed and the Legend of the fountain that he told in his famous work "The Tales of the Alhambra".
A city that was mentioned by Lope de Vega, Gerardo Diego or Cervantes himself in the greatest work of universal literature.
We will wait for you!
