Florence Free Tour with a real Florentine- part two
Tour description
In the morning we discovered the Santa Croce neighborhood and the Catedràl. In the afternoon we will discover another side of Florence, less chaotic and tourist as splendid and ancient. This tour is programmed to be the second of our daily experience but you can also do this one by its self. The tour begins in the Santa Maria Novella square, where is the homonym dominican church. From there we will walk through the streets of the neighborhood and depending on the group, you can visit another church or the old Dominican pharmacy. Then we will cross the river of Florence, the Arno, to go in the neighborhoods of San Frediano and Santo Spirito. We will pass through one of the last medieval doors of the 14th century: San Frediano Gate. From there you enter a neighborhood that still has real Florentine pints and where splendid palaces and churches are. As the sober and without facade Church of Carmine, where you can find the works of Masaccio. Then we will continue through Piazza Santo Spirito, a true jewel of the city. There is the last of the four great Florentine churches and important Renaissance palaces. The tour will end in front of Pitti Palace, the imposing Medici palace that demonstrates, still today, all the force that stopped this Medici family in Florence.
