Granada is much more than the Alhambra. Granada is Muslim and Christian, it is its streets and aromas. In this tour we will walk through the alleyways of the Albaicín and the downtown area, a place where the Muslim and Christian buildings mix like the Cathedral and the Madrasa. This tour will introduce you to the history and art of Granada. It will be a first approach to enjoy even more the city chosen by the great sultans and the Catholic Monarchs. We will start the tour in the center of Granada, where the sultans wanted to establish the silk market and the Madraza, the latter institution of great fame during the Middle Ages and that would undergo profound changes over the centuries. We cannot forget the Christian world, which was closely linked to the Muslim even centuries after the Christian Conquest. Thus, our guides will talk about one of the most important cathedrals of Christianity, the Cathedral of the Incarnation, and the magnificent burial chapel that stores the mortal remains of the Catholic Monarchs, Isabel and Fernando. We will continue the route through the most famous neighborhood of Granada, the Albaicín, where we will cross the intricate and winding streets of its lower area. There we will see the classic architecture of the neighborhood and the fruit trees on the walls that mark this neighborhood of Muslim origin. These streets will give us a pleasant and impressive surprise in little-known viewpoints.
