Shopping in the colonial city
Tour description
The tour starts at 10:00 am in the Plaza Grande, where one of our guides will be waiting to welcome you, then we will go to the Archbishop's Palace where we will have the opportunity not only to buy, but also to taste delicious ice creams and Sweet Quiteños that will transport you to colonial times.
Once we have tasted the delicious sweets, we will go to the oldest market in Quito, the San Francisco Market , where we will be able to learn how the people of Quito shop and if you like you can buy fruit or a delicious natural juice.
After our purchases in the San Francisco Market, we will advance to one of the oldest streets of the colonial quarter, Calle de la Ronda , where we can visit several very interesting shops such as the top shop or the tin store, also in La Ronda We will have a short explanation about coffee in Ecuador and we will be able to taste paila ice cream with unique flavors.
Once our visit to La Ronda is over, we will return to Gracía Moreno street and visit a toquilla straw hat store, where we can find the ideal one for us.
We will walk to the Plaza de San Francisco , where we will visit a chocolate shop where we will have a tasting and you can buy the best chocolate in the country.
As an optional stop we can go to the area of La Mariscal , where we will visit the most important artisan market in the capital, and after this visit we will finish our tour*.
