Tour description

We will meet at the Grand-Place, with our guide, to introduce ourselves to the fabulous world of Christmas, because in December the city of Brussels has a unique atmosphere that immerses us in the world of Christmas.

On our tour, we will know where the tradition of the nativity comes from, the mangers, the wise men and why the Christmas tree must be a pine tree. What is the relationship that pine trees have with Christmas?

We will also discover the legend of Saint Nikolas and his relationship with Coca-Cola. Keep in mind that it is in Brussels, where the largest Christmas market in Belgium takes place, they; Belgians call it “les Plaisirs d'hiver”. This great festival begins at the end of November and lasts the entire month of December until the beginning of January. The city is decorated with lights and Christmas "chalets" in places full of stories and legends. The people of Brussels usually come with friends or family to taste the typical seasonal products or simply to find the much sought after gifts for Saint Nicholas, Christmas or for the arrival of the Three Wise Men. After attending the spectacular light and sound show, we will go to see the Church of Saint Nicholas and discover the passion of Belgians for this famous saint.

We will continue to the emblematic square of San Caterina, to learn about the typical Christmas gastronomy that Belgians consume, such as: cougnou, the Stoemp aux chicons & lardons dish, Les peket and Tartiflette..., And why not? we stop for a mulled wine with our local guide?

We will also see approximately more than 250 chalets that are spread throughout the capital, creating a very typical northern European festive atmosphere. Our tour ends at the Place de la Monnaie (patinoire) where Napoleon built himself a theater to entertain himself in Brussels. Here you can enjoy the impressive ice skating rink that is set up every year during the Christmas holidays.
