Essential Free walking tours of Venice

Francisco started well, describing interesting facts about Jewish ghetto. This part of the tour went well. But when we continued at the city and a couple of people left the group, he became very upset, was mostly silent and slowly became boring. We wasted 30 min in the bar on a “coffee break”, and then waited before church opened to see a few paintings. Only 2 of us made it by the end of the tour.

I absolutely loved the tour. Our tour guide, Mary, was so knowledgeable about Venice. She gave so many tips about the city and was able to answer very niche questions about the city's history and culture.

We’ve done dozens of tours like this one and Lucia may be the best guide we’ve ever had. Great mix of information, fun, and recommendations. Brought Venice to life for us.

Lucia was great. She knows Venice very well and had lots of history and information for us. The tour was so interesting and Lucia's presentation kept everyone engaged. If it was with the history of Venice, the different times of the the Venetian Republic, the strange street numbering sequences, the attempt to change the street signs from Veneitian to Italian, the difference between a gondola and a sandolo, one came ouf of the tour with a new level of knowledge. This was a great tour with a great tour guide which was well worth it. I can't recommend it enough.

Francesco prepared a great tour of the hidden streets in Venice - away from the crowds of turists. Didn’t think it was possible to walk in the empty streets of Venice in the middle of the day. We were just 7 participants to start with, and unfortunately 3 ladies walked away from the group soon after the start. Francesco finished the tour with only 4 of us remaining, and we really loved it!

Very informative and learnt a lot more of the history of Venice and how Venetians live.

We could not recommend Francesco highly enough. This was an excellent tour of the hidden sights of Venice. Francesco was kind, witty, entertaining and engaging. The three hours flew by and we covered a lot of ground. This was a really quality walking tour. Would highly recommend.

It was great, very interesting if you've already seen the famous places. Gives you insight into history and hidden gems.

Francesco is a Venetian ninja, avoiding the tourist centres, slipping through the narrowest of back ways and providing a very knowledgeable insight into the hidden areas of this literally fantastic city - a chabad, the Illuminati and the city's most memorable bridge - Ponte Delle Tette!
