Free walking tours in Kuching

Took the walking tour with Aaron in Kuching on a very rainy morning during Lunar New Year. Most of the shops were closed. We were the only ones on the tour, so it basically was a private tour of old part of Kuching in empty and quiet streets. Aaron adapted the tour due to all the closures and came prepared with diagrams and statistics of Kuching. He gave great tips about what to do, how to get around, where to eat, etc. He also gave great explanations of history and culture of Kuching/Sarawak. Learned quite a lot from Aaron (who is 3rd or 4th generation in Sarawak). Given almost all the restaurants were closed that day, Aaron took us to the convention center for a free lunch provided by the government for the Lunar New Year. Would highly recommend Aaron to gain perspective on Kuching/Sarawak from a local person who seemed to really enjoy being a guide and teaching people about the history and culture of the region.

Aaron gives a good overview of the city, Makes it easier to orientate, and easier to know where to go in the days to come. He brings you to Chinese tempels tjat are less visited. Also tries to adjust his info to what you need. E.g. sending me adresses of vegetarian restaurants. He knows a lot about the history of Kuching and Sarawak. He explains ablut local,food and drinks, and shows where to buy it. It was a very informative tour!

Aaron gave a fantastic overview of the history and culture of Kuching, it is obvious he has put a lot of effort into the information provided. He took us down hidden streets we would not have walked alone and pointed out architectural features we would not have spotted. Aaron was also very friendly and engaging.

I had a solo tour with Aaron and enjoyed every moment learning about Kuching and Sarawak’s history, architecture, politics and more. There’s no way I could have known so many things Aaron shared or pointed out without his expertise and enthusiasm. Definitely recommend walking with Aaron!
