Fayoz was an amazing guide. The tour was super informative and he demonstrated great knowledge.

Fayoziddin was a very well informed guide.He took us at a comfortable pace and we all were very interactive with him and the other tour members.It was a memorable tour.

Our guide Fayoziddin is a true master of his craft. He studied Uzbekistan history in college, and is an expert on the history of each of the locations visited on the tour. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is a fan of history, and wants to really learn about Samarkand, rather than just see the sights.

Moji fue simpática e hizo el tour ameno. Además nos consultó al grupo que hacer en cada momento (si entrar dentro de los edificios o solo verlos por fuera). Domina muy bien el español, por lo que se le entendía perfectamente y podías hacer preguntas. Al final además dio recomendaciones locales. Recomendable para entender mejor la historia de Samarcanda y sus monumentos.

This was an excellent tour. It is by no means comprehensive (e.g. entire history of Uzbekistan, its people, etc.) because that is simply not possible from a half-day walking tour. A good tour guide, like Fayoziddin, knows to pick and choose his stops and the information he presents. The focus of this tour is more on the Timurid Renaissance. Fayoziddin is personable and interacts with his guests. He presents information like a story teller, which is what makes him engaging and easy to follow. He also ensures that there is at least 15 minutes at each stop to take photos. Samarkand is a big city with many sights, and so if you are simply looking for a guide who is going to take you from landmark to landmark with brief information, then this is not the tour for you. If you are looking for a fun guide with great knowledge who can present you interesting information about Samarkand's Renaissance period and how it shaped the modern identity, then this is the tour for you.
