Sono una guida turistica certificata INGUAT (Carnet 507) in tutto il Guatemala. Parlo spagnolo, tedesco e inglese. Amo il mio lavoro e vedere persone diverse ogni giorno durante i miei free walking tour.
Our tour with Harold was excellent! We had so much fun, and found ourselves sharing the interesting information that Harold shared with other travellers that we met in Antigua. He is very passionate about his city, and we recommend this as a way to get to know Antigua.
I suggest Harold actually talks about what the tour states clearly to the world 'Politics & conflict' etc., which you never once talked about and what is a HUGE part of Guatemala, which includes Antigua! To add to this I also wrote clearly on an email to Harold prior that I was looking forward to hearing about the silent genocide, CIA, the selling out to America by the 'white Guatemalans' etc... not ONCE did you mention anything on this recent history. Harold's insistence on naming cafes, restaurants, his favour places went on for the 1hr15min., to add to this I verbally asked as we walked to talk about the silent genocide etc., his response "I will send you some links...", hmm WOW! I decided to end the tour and leave early. You wasted my time and the other people's time. I have 0 idea if Harold has actually been to the 78 countries he states he has, or even been on other walking tours on his travels. His lack of ability to meet walkers requests astounded me, it was all about him, not the people paying. I would definitely NOT recommend.
Harold was very fun, combining some history with an in depth knowledge of the town
We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Harold. He immediately made everyone feel relaxed and welcome. His warm persona really shone through and his love for Antigua and travel was very clear. He gave us great insight into the history and current status of the town, without bombarding us with too many dates. He also gave us great tips about where to go for food and coffee in Antigua, including a great place to get many flavoured ice creams. Harold also gave onward suggestions for places in lake Atitlán. The tour around the city was not so big but that allowed for more quality over quantity. A great introduction to the city and its culture!
