The tour was ok. We heard some interesting information, mostly about the floods, the buildings. Our guide talked a lot about Vietnamese people's mindset, something about self-defense. Overall I was lacking a red threat of the tour, the information was not coherent (though mostly interesting). What I was not happy about was the minimum fee of 12 USD. It was stated in a message after we booked so we knew it but after having done dozens of walking tours (many with guru walk) I have never encountered it. If you require that payment, label it a paid tour and people can give you extra tips. This way it felt misleading. Also, the idea of a free walking tour is to pay what the tour felt worth. This way we were forced to pay a price that I would have not paid otherwise. I am happy I got some information, the guide was professional and I appreciated his effort on the tour but overall it was 3,5/5 stars for me.
The tour through the old town of Hoi An with My was amazing. We learned so much about the culture and thinking of the people and the resilience due to all the weather issues they have to deal with next to the history of the town!
