My guru, Eduardo, presented the complicated historical, political, and cultural background of Salvador's historical district with humor, wit, and sensitivity. Eduardo could discuss the local/global, spiritual/mundane, with a great sense of humor and sometimes dry wit. We were a small group, but Eduardo is a true educator who builds a sense of community by sharing anecdotes and food. The stand-out of the tour for me wasn't the scenic views but watching Eduardo interact with local community members with love and mutual respect.
