The best tour ever
This was our 2nd tour with Hakim and the reason we returned was because we were so impressed with Hakim's knowledge and style of presentation the first time. While Hakim was just as professional and knowledgeable, we sensed he was tired on the day, and therefore wasn't as exuberant and entertaining as we remembered him on our first tour. Nevertheless we would still rank him as one of the best walking tour guru we have met in all our years of doing this in many countries, and we would still go with him if we had another opportunity to tour with him.
Hakim is an exceptional tourguide. He made history and in-deep local knowledge into a heartfelt, fun and entertaining mix, and offered everyone to see, hear and taste the city. Hakim spoke to everyone in the group, leaving no one out. He bought us multiple fruits and drinks to taste and took us on a subway ride besides keeping us entertained by counting the group-members in myriads of languages. Besides densely packed knowledge there was always room for questions. Afterwards, Hakim topped the city tour with well-prepared fact-sheets for a better understanding of the city in a broader scope. Absolutely recommended!
Hakim is very nice! You can fell that he knows what he is talking about. He also has been doing tours for years so he got the experience. He has amazing tips for KL but also other places in Malaysia. On the tour you get to see primarly china town but also the twin towers. I would definetly recommend doing the tour!!!
It was good and thougtful of Hakim to start the tour with a bottle of chilled mineral water. We enjoyed the local tastings of the durian and mangosteens, plus giving us water to wash our hands afterwards. Try adding other small inexpensive seasonal fruit tastings like longans or langsat or rambutans that most foreigners have never tried before. A tour past a scented flower market and a colourful fruit market showcasing local products would be an added bonus and delight. The tour of local crafts in Pasar Seni also was a good exposure but maybe can get a shopkeeper to explain briefly the skilled craft work involved in the making of 2 local crafts symbolic of Malaysia....how about passing by a place where they make or printing batik as work in progress or craft briefly explained?? The first hand experience ride using the LRT with cool air-con was helpful....also periodic stops in places with air-cons to cool down in the swealthering KL tortuous heat is an absolutely a must in order to enjoy the tour more. It was very helpful to have a chilled drink halfway thru the tour in air con to relax our legs and cool down and socialise a bit and try out the unique local drinks....all in all...enjoyed the fun facts but more fun facts would be a bonus. Hakim's quick memory of our names and personal attention to our names was exceptionally impressive and made us connect with him even more.....how he could stand in the hot sun at times whlist we were in the shape doing his explanations baffles me but it was a special tour indeed for many of us...👍👍😊
