When you come to Samarkand definitely book a tour with Fayoziddin! Fayoziddin is an amazing tour guide. He attended to our needs, for example when a a person from the group had a torn sneaker, he helped figuring out a solution. He was sincere and cheerful. He explained the ancient history of Samarkand as well, not only the history of monuments. Normally, in other tours I attended before they give too much detail and it gets boring and I end up remembering nothing. But he explained it like a story, in a fun and memorable way.

Fayoziddin was super prompt even with his communication before we arrived at the tour. Gave us a very comprehensive overview of the city and its history. Specially loved his voting system for the 'photo time' he alloted after each explanation to explore the site by ourselves. His overview was balanced and he was extremely receptive to questions. Well planned route and good pace to explore Samarkand. Would definitely recommend this tour as your starting point to understand Samarkand and explore the city
