Ciao! Mi chiamo John e ho vissuto in vari posti in giro per il mondo, tra cui New York City, Miami, Austin, Toronto, Nuova Zelanda, Londra, Portogallo e ora sono qui, nella splendida Valencia. Sono qui da più di cinque anni ormai e questo perché la città è ovviamente meravigliosa ma anche le persone sono meravigliose! Ma non è sempre stato così. Questo posto ha visto una storia incredibile, e a volte sanguinosa, sin dalla sua fondazione come insediamento oltre 3.000 anni fa. Ha cambiato proprietario più di un paio di volte! Amo la storia e ho studiato la storia di Valencia da quando sono arrivato. Lasciate che vi mostri alcune delle mie parti preferite e alcuni dei suoi segreti, così come dove andare per trovare il miglior cibo, le spiagge e i mercati! Salute! Salud!
We took this tour on our first day in Valencia to get an overview of the city from a local guide. We ended up having a private tour with John as the other party cancelled last minute, and it was great. John was very communicative prior to the tour in confirming meeting instructions. During the walk we learned so much about the unique history of Valencia (and Spain in general) from John. He is very passionate about history and such an entertaining story teller! We enjoyed all of his commentary and appreciated his recommendations for sights and dining to try during the rest of our trip. He even followed up and sent more recommendations via messenger afterwards. We all agreed that it was a nice way to learn the layout of Valencia while understanding more about the background of this unique place. Highly recommend John and the Guru Walk tour!

You definitely won’t be bored – his storytelling skills and vast knowledge are absolutely captivating. I’ve been on many guided tours before, but John is truly one of the best guides I’ve ever met. His cultural knowledge is impressive and far-reaching – I even gained new insights related to Hungary – things I had never come across before :) If you’re looking for an informative, engaging, genuinely enjoyable and truly memorable experience, don’t miss this tour. John was delightful, animated, enthusiastic and really well informed. He was also very personable, courteous and engaging. The time flew by and we ended the tour knowing far more than when we started.
As a history enthusiast, I found the tour to be both informative and entertaining. As there were not many of us on the tour, we decided to go off-piste and tailor it to our interests. I really recommend treating your guide to a cold beer in the Mercado de Colon.
