Hello, my name is Charlotte, I am Franco-Belgian, a graduate of tourism in Belgium and I have lived in Palma since 2014. I have worked throughout Europe receiving, informing and guiding travelers from all over the world speaking languages such as French, English, Spanish, Italian, Dutch or German. For me, being a guide is more than a job: it is a passion that I share! I love sharing with people, be it a good plate of food, magical moments or recommendations of all kinds. I would like to share with you the history of this pearl of the Mediterranean as well as my experiences and anecdotes to make this guided tour a different and interesting experience, meeting a French-speaking resident of the Balearic Islands.
Good walking tour for some information about a few places and a little history
We very much enjoyed the walking tour with Charlotte. She was so pleasant and knowledgeable. She easily engaged with members of the tour as she shared interesting facts and stories. We would recommend this walking tour as a good way to begin a visit to Mallorca!
Charlotte was engaging, enthusiastic, well informed and demonstrated a wide range of knowledge of many subjects and the history on our short tour of Palma in Majorca. We found her easily approachable with our specific interest questions, I'd happily go on another tour of Palma with Charlotte and feel confident I'd be offered the opportunity to learn more . Good guide, competent, capable, relaxed and informative i.e. professional her experience and indeed qualifications in tourism services are clear to see.
Charlotte was nice at the start, and we explicitly asked her if it’s okay for our bigger group (5 pax) to join even though we only booked one slot; we mentioned at the start that we’d be very happy to book another tour if she feels like four additional pax would be too much, but she welcomed us. From the start of the tour, she kept talking about tipping at least €10-50 and all her money problems to explain why we should give her more. Towards the end of the tour, she demanded for more money after immediately checking everyone’s tip - which we found extremely rude. From what we understand, there is no obligation to tip a specific amount for the tour. Although we gave her €25, she confronted us and made a big fuss. Terrible experienced don’t join if you want your tips checked and confronted if it is not at least €15-20 per pax. If it were a good tour, we would have been happy to pay but the tour took less than 1.5 hours and we hardly learnt anything from the stops.
