I'm 38 years old, born and raised in Sarajevo. I have a degree in political sciences, so history and politics are my passion. As a young boy, I also experienced the siege of the city so I decided to share my stories and to tell my guests more about the recent war. But I will show you more than that. For me the history of my country and city is more than just the recent war. In free time I also like to travel and so far I visited 40+ countries.

I hesitated when giving marks for ‘entertainment’ because that is not the purpose of this tour dealing with very serious content. The guide, Neno, lived through the Siege of Sarajevo and gives a very poignant tour about the horrors of war and the crimes committed against the local civilian population. I would throughly recommend this tour (and the other tour by Neno to get the overall picture of Sarajevo) which is essential to understanding standing the city and its people and how the human spirit triumphs.
Very insightful and I think an example of optimism about the future
The tour far exceeded my expectations! Neno was incredibly knowledgeable and managed to pack an amazing amount of information into the tour without it being overwhelming. He gave us a great historical summary at the beginning which is so helpful as, by his own admission, it can be very complicated. The tour covered everything relevant and then some! It was funny, professional, engaging and fast-paced. He provided some excellent commentary on the Balkan people as well as conveying the huge emotional impact the conflict had had, not only on the Bosnian people, but also his own family. I 100% recommend this tour to anyone new to Bosnia - it is the perfect way to understand and see Sarajevo!
This is our second time visiting Sarajevo and it never fails to surpass our expectations. Neno brought Sarajevo to life through his knowledge, personal experiences and also the humour he brings. He provides insights into what it was like during the war and also to live in Sarajevo. I would highly recommend this walking tour as it showed me aspects of Sarajevo we hadn’t come across with insights you wouldn’t gain just walking in your own. He is attentive to people’s needs and open to answering questions. One not to miss!
