Joan - Guía turístico en Mombasa

Joan’s food tour was amazing. We started at English Garden and joined the locals for some relaxing time with beautiful views while sampling some local beverages and snacks. Following this, we stopped at a local outdoor spot and had BBQ chicken, Swahili pizza, where egg forms the crust, fries with egg and a Tarmenin drink. It was all so tasty and made me want more. Unfortunately, I was full so was unable to enjoy anymore local cuisine. Throughout the tour she educated me on the history of Mombassa as well as the lifestyle here. We had a wonderful discussion while she answered all my questions. I highly recommend Joan’s tour as she is flexible and made sure to expose me to local food and drinks that I hadn’t already tried. Joan führte uns ein in die authentische Streetfood-Kultur Mombasas und versüßte uns die Tour mit vielen lustigen und spannenden Infos über Land, Leute, Bräuche und Essen. Statt der veranschlagten 2 Stunden waren wir über 5 Stunden unterwegs, quer durch die Stadt mit Stops an unterschiedlichen Streetfood-Locations, die tolles Essen anboten. Die Zeit mit Joan verging wie im Flug.

It was great to experience local food with Joan. She was very knowledgeable about the area and places to get what sort of food depending on your preference. Plus, it was also interesting to have a talk with her during meals and get to know her perspectives on different things.

Ok trip. Fantastic food, less informativ or interesting from a touristic point of view. A lot of walking, few stops.

The tour was amazing. Joan showed us lots of nice local food spots and we also saw lots of old town mombasa, which was definitely a plus. All the food we tried was amazing and she tailored the tour specifically to our likes as well as to what we have and haven't tried before.
