Hello and Namaste! my name is Manoj Thapa. I am from Kathmandu, Nepal. I am 30 Years old, and a licensed tourist guide. I’m passionate about my work and I know how to bring it to fruition.
I would describe myself as an open-hearted and straightforward person who doesn’t believe in deceiving other people and tries to be legitimate in everything I do.
My work as a tour guide is to lead groups of tourists or individuals through historical sites, museums, geographic destinations, and outdoor excursions. However, I not only see myself as a person dedicated to my work but also, I never forget to connect it with love, I have for my work and undoubtedly, I allow this love to reflect on the journey, I will have with my guests.
I am confident in my knowledge of Nepalese history, culture, traditions, heritages, and religions. I will be helping my guests to get a detailed understanding of the sites we will explore.
I hope to see you soon on our tour.
Thank you
This was a fun tour and I was able to try multiple new foods despite having already been in Nepal for a few weeks. Manoj was professional and provided useful information about food culture as well as answered my more general questions about Nepali culture and life. Additionally, Manoj adapted a few of the stops in real time based on my preferences and sought feedback as we went to make sure I was having a positive experience and getting to try a variety of food items.
My tour with Manoj went really well! The route was good and in between spots, there’s flexibility of walking or taking a cab. Manoj is a friendly and very knowledgable guide who could explain the history, cultural symbols and details of the rituals well. He speaks good English and always makes sure that I understood him well.
A fantastic way to experience Kathmandu beyond the usual sights. The foodie walking tour weaves through lively alleys around Thamel, stopping at hidden eateries and street stalls you’d never, EVER find on your own. From steaming momos and spicy samosas to the delicate Pani puri. Manoj was knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about sharing the rich history of typical Nepalese cuisine.
