I'm an accredited guide with the Scottish Guides Guides Association, qulaified to guide all over Scotland. Quailfied guides have a Blue Badge, which is the highest accrediation a tourist guide in Scotland can have.
Glasgow is my home town, I've lived here for 20 years but I was born in a town called Ayr, forty miles to the south of Glasgow, For a long time, before I ever moved here, I was always visting to enjoy the culture and nightlife of this great city.
When I finally moved here, it was to work in theatre. For a while I was an actor but then I became a director. Throughout that time, I got to know the history of Glasgow very well.
In more recent years, apart from studying with the Scottish Tourist Guides Association, I've been working in the heritage sector, writing books about the history of some of the districts of Glasgow, talking about Glasgow and encouraging people to explore and discover the history of the city.
Working as a tour guide is great fun. I really enjoy introoducing people to the city and sharing some stories.
When I'm not touring, I'm in the library, researching and discovering more stories to share.
Bruce is a very competent guide I really appreciated his focus on important details and He is also a great and entertaining presenter. Thank you!
Great tour however the overall Glasgow city is going through too many restorations. Still would strongly recommend to know the story of Glasgow.
Fantastic tour round the highlights of Glasgow. Informative and entertaining. Nice gentle pace but lots packed in to two and a half hours. Would definitely recommend.
Bruce is a knowledgable and excellent communicator. It was a great tour!
