35 year old Dubliner who has called Porto home for the best part of 14 years. While studying Spanish and Portuguese in University, I chose Porto as my year abroad and instantly fell in love with the city. I have been working as a tour guide for nearly 10 years with a strong passion for history, politics and food, which I hope to convey on my tours. I also love football but I try to avoid too much of that on my tours!
The walking tour with Caoimhin was fantastic, even in the rain! With only three people in the group, he was able to personalize the experience based on our interests, which made it even more enjoyable. He provided fascinating context about the history of Porto and Portugal while guiding us through the city’s historic sites. He has a great personality and answered all of our questions thoughtfully and in depth. Caoimhin is a great storyteller, and his authentic love for the city shines through. Having moved to Porto from Ireland, he brings a unique and refreshing perspective, blending historical knowledge with personal insight. Because of his personality and perspective, the tour didn’t feel like a typical, boring, history-only experience; it was engaging, dynamic, and genuinely interesting throughout. We especially appreciated his perspective on how the city has evolved over the past decade, which really put into context how young and dynamic the country is. Highly recommend this tour!
