I am Alberto, I am passionate about travel and sports, and both together are even better. I am happy to help you to discover Dublin and its nuances.
I always recommend a free tour because I feel that it is the best way to get to know a place. We had few complete stops, he just explained and talked while we were walking, which was a great way to keep warm, because it was a very cold day. However, sometimes it was hard to hear him while we were walking. He had a delay from his previous tour and wrote a message in the group to let us know, and answered immediately when I wrote. I really appreciate this because it kept us posted to know that we had not missed him.
Alberto cancelled the tour 10 minutes before start, due to the weather. This was on Sunday 02.02, there was a very slight drizzle that came and went during the day. To give you an idea, most people on the street weren't even using umbrellas. We were already at the meeting point, surrounded by other tour guides and their groups. This cancellation was very short notice, unnecessary and extremely disappointing. Alberto, you need to consider that tourists spend a limited amount of time in a city and have pre-scheduled activities planned throughout the day. Which makes cancelling 10 minutes before start due to a slight drizzle highly unprofessional and is highly inconsiderate with people's time. Upon the sudden cancellation we booked another tour which started 40 later. If you speak Spanish and want to have a great tour guide, go with Jimena instead.
