I am Rafael, your guide, 44 years old and a Berliner since 2003. As a gay man I am very interested in queer history. Based on many books and articles I have worked out an exciting and entertaining tour about the eventful Berlin history of homosexuality.
I took the tour on Saturday with Rafael that was on bike. Although I had issues with the bike rental app, Rafael was very helpful and responsive in addressing the issue so that I could attend. Rafael definitely has an interest and commitment in the LGBTQ sites we toured in Berlin. The information was thorough and he was accommodating answering questions. Rafael has been instrumental in getting the municipality to place QR codes so that passerby can be informed on sites visited. I would encourage anyone interested in discovering Berlin's LGBTQ community past and present participate in the tour. Being on the bike made is especially memorable for me. Thanks Rafael.
A very interesting and surprising free walking tour with bikes. Rafael is a very well prepared tour guide who explains you the history of women and men who were pioneers in fighting for equality for the LGBTQ* Community and who spent part of their life in berlin. He provides a lot of facts. The idea discovering Berlin and it's gay and lesbian heroes by bikes makes the tour very special and absolutely recomendable! 10 Stars!
Excellent tour of queer Berlin, visiting many historic sites relating to the first homosexual emancipation. A fun and enjoyable way to learn about gay history.
