Ciao, sono Behzad, che non cancella mai i tour, nemmeno con un solo ospite! Sono un ex dottorando in fisica, ma ora sono appassionato della storia e dell'atmosfera di Berlino. Una città con una storia incredibile in ogni angolo e un'atmosfera multiculturale. Perché lo faccio? Da più di un anno, abbiamo un gruppo numeroso che esce ogni settimana e visita un nuovo quartiere della città, e non abbiamo mai visitato un posto due volte! Così ho deciso di condividere questa esperienza e mostrare Berlino, e tutti i suoi aspetti, a un gruppo di persone ancora più numeroso, che siete voi! Guruwalkers!
Behzad is a great guide and this is actually the second tour I went on of his after the truly amazing walking the Berlin Wall tour which I highly recommend. However, this tour I think is let down in comparison by over promising and so it’s difficult to deliver. As after 3.5 hours we did not actually manage to finish the tour and there was still over a third of the tour which we did not complete (the stops after museum island). It is important to note there was nothing wrong with the tour other than this and if the tour had been scheduled to end at museum island I would have been fine with it, however, in its current form, I feel I cannot award it 5 stars as it is likely you will not see all the spots mentioned in the description of this tour. This could be improved with better pacing at the start of the tour, or by making it clearer that there will not be time for a break and for walkers to be prepared by bringing water and snacks. As I would have preferred to finish the full tour and not take the cafe break we did in the middle of the tour if I knew we were tight for time.
After taking this tour I feel that it is very underrated and the host Behzad has undersold it in his description of the tour! Although we were only a group of 2, Behzad attentively took us on this unique and interesting journey along the Berlin Wall, with many interesting facts which you can see were well thought out and researched and cannot be easily found on guidebooks or other sources online. Also, even though the subject matter is serious, Behzad has plenty of fascinating facts which make this tour so interesting and definitely worthwhile to go on while in Berlin! Please note, it is a very safe route, his note on being killed if we walked the route 35 years ago is just a joke that the route passes between the sides of the Berlin Wall, so don’t worry the route does not pass into any sketchy neighbourhoods at all!
Weil uns die Kreuzberg-Tour so gut gefallen hat, haben wir gleich nochmal eine Tour mit Behzad gebucht! Sehr interessant und abwechslungsreich. Sehr zu empfehlen!
