Lots of historical information in a short time. The tour and guide was interesting but I was expecting mix of history and fun facts. It was okay but I found the hop on/off bus tour more informative.
Jamie was a very enthusiastic and informative tour guide. The tour includes three parts of Singapore and it helps a tourist become familiar with the local areas, public transportation, and food. I am more confident with MRT transportation and local customs like tissue packets on tables thanks to Jamie. I have taken several free tours and this itinerary and tour guide's knowledge is superior. I highly recommend booking this tour upon arrival.
Han was the perfect guide for a solo walking tour of the lesser known sights of Hanoi. The tour included a picturesque mural street, the train stations, and back alleys. I especially enjoyed learning about a typical Vietnamese home and living arrangements. At the conclusion of the tour, I offered to buy Han lunch. After much prompting, we shared a traditional Vietnamese lunch and I learned how to properly season my meal. It was delicious. At the conclusion of lunch, I learned Han owned a motor bike and often participated in group tours. I asked for a motor bike tour the following day and it was the highlight of my 15-day trip in Vietnam. Han added a stop to a memorial and helped me buy flowers making the tour personal and unforgettable. I highly recommend Han and hope that Han offers motor bike tours for solo travellers in the future.
The best food tour on my 15-day Vietnam trip. My trip included two food tours and this one is definitely worth repeating. There were 3 guides for 15 participants. One was Win and he shared pictures of the tour on WhatsApp. We stopped at 6 food stands/restaurants and sampled 11 Vietnamese delicacies. The guides provided insight on the food we were going to eat as well as how to properly eat and assemble the food. Their knowledge was priceless. They accomodated food allergies (shellfish) and vegetarians easily. At the beginning of the tour, we were asked to pay 200,000 vnd for the food and at the end, we received 73,000 vnd back. Upon reservation, the tour required $10 USD payable to the tour organizer, he was not part of the tour. Hopefully he paid the guides for their time and knowledge. That was my first experience with a free tour having a set price but it was a small fee for a well organized tour.
Very disappointing the guru recommended later times "hoping" to meet the tour minimum but I wanted a commitment. We chatted about this four six hours. I'm very disappointed.
