I am a Ph.D. title candidate in Anthropology who has been to around 75 countries. I am passionate about meeting people from different countries and backgrounds. I am also an experienced tour guide who has done over 1,000 tours in Portugal, some 300 in Brazil as well as another 300 in Thailand (the country which was the subject of my doctoral thesis).
While I am skilled in History, I also have a strong bohemian part of my personality, thus I enjoy showing my clients the best bars and restaurant to attend in the city.
In my tours, I prize that the clients will get both a general knowledge of the History of Lisbon or the cuisine of Rio and local tips on how to enjoy their time in the city.
The food choices and Eduardo’s knowledge blew me away! My family and I still talk about the food until today🤤. Eduardo is also incredibly smart/ knowledgeable and professional in leading the tour. We learned so much from him!

This is a fantastic tour for anyone with an interest in history. If you’re mainly looking for a quick overview of Lisbon’s most Instagrammable sights, this may not be the tour for you, although there are some viewpoints and photo opportunities along the way too. Instead, the focus is on churches, monasteries, and other historically significant sites that tell the story of Lisbon’s complex past. I really enjoyed hearing about the historical evolution of Lisbon and the many tragedies that shaped the city over time, from tensions between the church and monarchy to natural disasters and the persecution of Jews and Muslims. I’m not usually a huge history buff, but I found the stories fascinating, and at times it honestly felt like listening to an episode of Game of Thrones because of how enthusiastically Eduardo was telling them. The tour lasts around 3 hours and covers about 17 stops, so it’s quite comprehensive but the pace doesn’t feel rushed. It finishes perfectly with a drink in hand at a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the city and the bridge which is also great sunset spot.
