I am a Ph.D. title candidate in Anthropology who has been to around 75 countries. I am passionate about meeting people from different countries and backgrounds. I am also an experienced tour guide who has done over 1,000 tours in Portugal, some 300 in Brazil as well as another 300 in Thailand (the country which was the subject of my doctoral thesis).
While I am skilled in History, I also have a strong bohemian part of my personality, thus I enjoy showing my clients the best bars and restaurant to attend in the city.
In my tours, I prize that the clients will get both a general knowledge of the History of Lisbon or the cuisine of Rio and local tips on how to enjoy their time in the city.
The tour was amazing and very entertaining with a lot of history to learn. I can only recommend this tour. Very underrated and patient. Food selection is also amazing from the tour. You will definitely see Rio in a different view! Don’t miss this tour.
Great tour in a different area than I would have gone on my own. Interesting history.
Very enjoyable evening with Eduardo and the group .. lots of local food to taste and lots of stories and historical context from our Eduardo .. we even went island hopping on the Barra Marapendi lagoon .. make sure to have some cash for Eduardo as he doesn’t take cards
Eduardo is a fabulous guide who knows his nighbourhood intimately and uses it as a vehicle to reveal the story of the city through its food and foodways. From slaves and the real story of feijoia to a queen's role in the emergence of Brazil's favourite drink, Eduardo tells it all with verve and humour. And of course, there's the delicious food itself. It's a win-win combination. Don't miss out.
Eduardo was a brilliant story-teller who is able to condense centuries of Portuguese history into a superb crafted tour (surely not for kids, but teenagers into history may be able to keep up). It is as intense as he advertises, yet with doses of humour and some viewpoints to please the crowds. One of the best tours I have ever done in my life! Thank you, Eduardo.
