Martin is a very passionate guide. The tour was very informative to me and I would totally recommend checking it out when in Phnom Penh! Thank you Martin :)
My friends and I joined Martin's tour after a very tiring but fulfilling (3h) walking tour the day before. Today's tour was packed with nuggets of information on the genocide and the atrocities committed by the then regime. Martin was able to deliver in simple English in a compelling manner. Highly recommended for history buffs.
Martin is a great guide. I enjoyed his first tour so much that I booked his second one right after. He knows a lot about Cambodia’s history and explains it in a way that’s easy to follow. You can tell he cares about sharing his country’s past. The tours cover difficult but important topics, and he handles them with respect. Definitely one of the better tours I’ve done—worth doing if you want to understand Cambodia better.
This is such a pivotal part of Cambodian history that every visitor needs to learn about, so I feel like the best way to do that is with an actual guide like Martin, not just on your own with an audio guide. It was harrowing to see the Killing Fields and the S21 prison in person, but Martin is a fantastic guide and took us through these places and helped us understand the story behind it. It's tragic and difficult to fathom what everyone in his country has suffered through under the brutal Khmer Rouge regime and amazing how far Cambodians have come. Martin has such deep knowledge on the topic and we also got to meet survivors, which really added a personal aspect to it all. I have nothing but utmost admiration for Cambodians and am very grateful for Martin for sharing his knowledge and guiding us on this tour. This was my second tour with Martin after attending the walking tour of the city the day before and I'm so glad I got to join this tour as well.
